Comprehensive Overview of Assessment and Training Courses
The value of our assessment and training courses lies in the dual focus on both delivery and validation.ย
Mastering the Assessment Process
A key component of being a workplace trainer is the ability to assess competence fairly and accurately. Our training and assessment strategies teach you how to:
- Identify the relevant unit of competency.
- Develop assessment tasks that reflect real-world requirements.
- Support foundation skills and provide core skills support for learners who need it.
- Ensure your assessment reflects the knowledge required by the industry.
By the end of your assessment qualification, you will be able to provide professional assessment services that stand up to audit and meet all nationally recognised training products requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the minimum education requirements to teach in VET?
To teach nationally recognised units, you must hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Under the Standards for RTOs (SRTO) 2025, the minimum acceptable qualifications are the TAE40110, TAE40116, or the latest TAE40122. In addition to these pedagogical requirements, you must be able to demonstrate vocational competency and current industry experience in the specific subjects you intend to teach.
Please Note: While the TAE40110 and TAE40116 remain valid under the current standards, many employers now prioritise or exclusively hire candidates with the most recent TAE40122 Certificate IV qualification. Holding the current version ensures you are trained in the latest assessment frameworks and may improve your employability in a competitive market.
Can I complete the course while working?
Yes. Our programs are specifically designed for individuals delivering training who need to balance their professional responsibilities with their studies.
How do I facilitate online learning?
Our training strategy is designed for maximum flexibility, offering various delivery methods to suit your needs, all of which include expert-led instruction combined with self-paced study.
In-Person: Master the physical classroom environment through practical, hands-on vocational training.
Virtual: Access our live class virtually from the comfort of your own home.
Online Learning: Starting next week, our dedicated online platform will go live, providing a centralised hub for your resources, assessments, and self-paced modules.
Whether you are in the classroom or studying remotely, our approach ensures you gain the practical skills required for vocational success.
Can I get credit for my existing industry experience?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is not a simple tick-box exercise. Because a training and assessment qualification carries significant responsibility, RPL is assessed on a strict case-by-case basis. Please contact us for more information.ย
What standards do your training and assessment services meet?
As one of Australia’s registered training organisations, our training and assessment services are governed by the SRTO 2025 standards. We use sophisticated assessment tools to assess vocational education students fairly and consistently. Every aspect of our vocational training, from the classroom to the final certificate, is designed to be compliant, industry-relevant, and focused on high-quality outcomes for every learner.
What will I be able to do once I complete my qualification?
You will be qualified to design and lead vocational training sessions that meet the needs of the specific industry. Whether you are teaching in a workshop or a classroom, you will have the skills to support vocational education learners across various sectors.
What support is available for learners who struggle with literacy or numeracy?
We are committed to the success of all our students. Our training strategy includes access to foundation skills resources to support learners who may need extra assistance with the core literacy and numeracy skills required for their studies. By identifying these needs during the proposed training phase, we can tailor our support to help you achieve the best possible outcome.
Why is recent industry experience required to become a VET trainer?
To meet vocational training standards in Australia, you must be more than just a qualified teacher; you must also be a subject matter expert. Demonstrating broad industry knowledge is essential because it ensures that the instruction you provide is grounded in current, real-world practices. This ensures that the students you train are receiving the most relevant and up-to-date skills required by employers.
