CPP20218 – Release 2
CSC40122 Certificate IV in Correctional Practice
The CSC40122 Certificate IV in Correctional Practice is an important qualification that reflects the role of individuals employed in the supervision and management of offenders and detainees, in the correctional services sector. It is a qualification that assists with career advancement, personal and professional development, and a more comprehensive understanding of correctional roles.
The general qualification covers the competencies allowing experienced staff to reflect advanced practice and greater team leadership roles.
RAM Training Services offers this qualification through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process, whereby your existing skills and experience are recognised and mapped to the requirements of the training package, to achieve your certificate – rather than through the completion of assessments or exams. This process may look different for each individual applicant.
Those wishing to obtain this qualification through RAM’s RPL process, will already be employed in the supervision and management of offenders and detainees in the criminal justice system, or within immigration detention centres, wishing to further their career opportunities and gain recognition for the skills and experience they have gained.
Please see the Delivery Method tab for more information on the RPL process.
RAM offers the CSC40122 Certificate IV in Correctional Practice through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program. You will be required to gather sufficient documentation and evidence, that demonstrates that you have the necessary and relevant skills, knowledge and experience, in order to achieve this qualification. Some of this evidence may include:
- 3rd party reports from supervisors
- Job description
- Payslips or letter of employment
- Previous certificates
- Work samples eg emails, reports, incident reports, case notes etc
Once enrolled, your Assessor will review all of your evidence to confirm your eligibility for RPL, and then have you attend a 1-day Workshop, either via a Live Virtual class (conducted via Zoom), or Face to Face at either our Brisbane or Gold Coast location. This Workshop enables you to participate in discussions and complete tasks that support your RPL evidence.
Private group bookings are also available for employers looking to provide this qualification for their team.
