Course Overview
The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment was released in December 2022, and now supersedes the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment. The TAE40122 is the newest version of the training and assessment qualification. The new qualification has an additional 2 units of competency and changes in the core and elective unit structure, allowing organisations better flexibility in the style of training and assessment qualification they deliver. RAM Training Services has structured the TAE40122 course to be more relatable to those working in the training industry, with an emphasis on the delivery of training sessions and assessing of individuals.
The nationally recognised Cert 4 Training and Assessment qualification reflects the roles of entry-level vocational education and training (VET) teachers, trainers and assessors, who are delivering training services to vocational learners, and assessment services to candidates. It is designed for those that have relevant industry skills and knowledge, and are looking to actively work in the vocational education sector, or to be a trainer and assessor in their workplace, teaching accredited or non-accredited training. Successful completion of the TAE40122 Cert IV Training and Assessment course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to be able to effectively train and assess students in adult education (in the VET sector) in Australia.
The TAE40122 is available via Distance Learning, online learning with Live Virtual workshops Australia wide, or Face to Face workshops on the Gold Coast, in Brisbane, Cairns and Perth. We also offer private group bookings for corporate clients, Australia-wide. The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment course focuses on the real-world skills that a trainer and assessor will need for understanding the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) landscape, and how to truly be an impactful trainer and assessor within your job role. Our industry professionals will help to guide you through the Cert IV in Training and Assessment, giving you the confidence and skills to hit the ground running in your new role.
NO work placement required – while other providers may require you to source an RTO for work placement to finalise your assessments, our courses have been specifically designed to eliminate the need for this.
If you hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment qualification, please check out our Cert IV TAE40116 upgrade course to ensure your vocational training is up to date. Through our upgrade option we can recognise your previous training for your future TAE40116 units. This option will enable you to complete a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment fast track. The TAE40116 and the TAE40122 qualifications are equivalent so currently those who hold the TAE40116 do not need to upgrade to the TAE40122 Cert IV TAE.

Intensive 5-day Face to Face Workshop
This Intensive 5-day Face to Face course requires participants to complete self-paced pre and post-course work. The pre-course work is to be completed before the 5-day workshop which includes; self-paced reading, watching recorded tutorials, preparation of your presentations.
The post-course work is made up of a variety of tasks and activities, these include; short answer questions, case scenarios, research activities, and the completion of presentations.
During the Cert IV Training and Assessment classroom (Face to Face) days, you will complete a range of assessment tasks, and group activities. As well as completing tasks that require a VET Trainer/Teacher to act as a lead validator - eliminating the need for a participant to source their own trainer in order to complete these tasks.
This method of delivery gives you the skills and knowledge required to complete the remainder of the TAE assessment tasks from home, using the knowledge gained during the week, as well as access to pre-recorded instructional webinars and pre-recorded tutorials

As part of the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, you are required to deliver a presentation to an audience of 4 people, in a face to face setting. You will have to organise the below, as post-course work:
- 4 people to deliver 1 x 90min face to face presentation session to - these must be participants over the age of 15, and this session must be recorded
NO work placement required – while other providers may require you to source an RTO for work placement to finalise your assessments, our courses have been specifically designed to eliminate the need for this.

All Distance Learning Certificate IV TAE40122 participants are supported by our pre-recorded tutorials and pre-recorded instructional webinars, giving the participants the flexibility to work on their assessments at a time that suits their needs. Participants have up to 12 months to successfully complete their assessments from home.

Course Dates
These course dates are for the TAE40122 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Due to the TAE40116 version of this qualification being superseded by the TAE40122, all students enrolled in the TAE40116 must be completed by 1 Nov 2024. To ensure students have enough time to complete their studies by this deadline, we are no longer accepting enrolments into the TAE40116 full course. If, however, you already hold some units from the TAE40116 Cert IV in Training and Assessment and wish to apply for Credit Transfer for these units to go towards obtaining the full qualification, please give our office a call on 1300 328 500 for more Cert IV Training and Assessment information.
